Making yourself, a meal can often be one of the points in the day that is hectic. People are coming home from work and school, hungry and noisy. Unless you have had a clear run through the afternoon, it can be challenging to create something nutritious and tasty for everyone. However, even one day a week, creating food that you love to eat is great. Cooking can be very creative, and the joy of eating what you’ve made is wonderful. Usually, fast meals aren’t as vitamin and mineral-rich as our bodies need. So if you feel like you need a boost, you may need to consider if you need supplements. If you do, there is a high chance that actually within a week of taking the right things for your body, you’ll feel great! Combine that with tasty cooking, and you’re on to a winner.

BlOck Time

Just for you. An hour or more a week just to do something for yourself. Take your phone but only to use as a camera - or dust your camera off and head out to take photos. Pop some headphones in and head to your favorite woods just to walk the week off. Consider meditation, writing, or painting. They are generally regarded as very relaxing hobbies and ways to spend time. But making sure that you have booked time in each week just to do something for yourself can be empowering enough. If you choose not to use the time, that’s fine too - so long as you made the decision.

Many of us have a pile of books that we really want to read and can never seem to manage. Set yourself goals for during the week. Like reading 2 pages a day or more. Or finishing one book a month. If we set goals, even for fun stuff, we are much more likely to reach those targets. And it might seem like it is taking the fun out of it, but you might be surprised how many spaces in the day that you can create just for reading. It might also be an idea to find books on self-care so that you can get even more information and ideas to help you make the most of your happiness and self-care time.

The important thing to remember is that self-care is not simply about jumping in the bath or a facemask, it can come in many forms. Like cleaning your bedroom, or doing your taxes. It is the small things that ease your mind and let you relax for a while. So when you find that works for you, make sure that you do it as often as you can.
