Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018)

This multi-award-winning piece shows McCarthy, as lesbian author Lee Israel, in her finest.  Coupled with English Richard E. Grant as campy, fun loser Jack Hock, it was just outstanding.  Incredible even.

It was also well done and therefore really depressing.  It also goes to show how crummy your life can be when your disposition is pretty awful.  Yeah.

McCarthy can't keep a job and can't keep her disinterested agent's (Jane Curtin) attention long enough to pitch the same, not-gonna-work, next project.  She becomes ensconced in a life of plagiarism and gets caught.
