Cocktail Recipes for El Dia de los Muertos, 2018

El Dia de los Muertos is an observance of those who have passed over to the other side.  It is common for Mexican resident's to visit their graves, prepare sugar-made skulls and decorate windows.  It's a joyous occasion.

Therefore, we suggest the following, which are appropriate at any time prior to, including November first and second and a little thereafter.

2018Cocktail Recipes:

Basil Mezcal Sour

  • 1.5 Oz Pelotón de la Muerte Mezcal
  •   ½ Oz triple sec
  •   ½ Oz lime juice
  •   ¾ Oz agave nectar or simple syrup
  • 1 Egg white
  • 2 Basil leaves

Instructions: Put all ingredients and shake vigorously for 2 minutes until drink is creamy.  Strain and serve up.

2018Corralejo Tequila Old Fashioned

  • 2½ Oz Corralejo Añejo
  •  ¾ Oz agave syrup
  • 2 Dashes aromatic bitters

Instructions: Add all ingredients into a rocks glass with ice. Stir to mix combine ingredients. Garnish & Enjoy!

Pancho Villa Margarita

  • 1.5 Oz Los Arango Tequila
  •   ¾ Oz lime juice
  •   ½ Oz agave syrup
  • 1 Lime wedge

Instructions: Combine Los Arango Blanco, fresh lime juice, agave nectar into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, strain into a rocks glass and pour over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Skull Candy Sangria

  • 3 Oz Stella Rosa Black
  • 1 Oz grapefruit juice
  • ½ Oz lime juice
  • 1 Tsp purple sugar (for rim)
  • Orange slice, for garnish

Instructions: Rim glass with purple sugar, stir sugar, lime juice and grapefruit juice in a pitcher. Pour over ice into glass,top with Stella Rosso and add orange slice for garnish

The After Life

  •  ½ Oz Avion Silver
  •  ½ Oz Creme de Violette
  •  ½ Oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 3 Parts Ginger Beer

Instructions: Rim a highball glass with Calavera Salt . Combine all ingredients except Ginger beer in Shaker, shake with ice. Strain into rimmed glass, add ginger beer and fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.
