The Bull Run Distillery hails from Portland, Oregon, as does its owner and founder Lee Medoff.  His Curriculum Vitae is as impressive as is his desire to grow and evolve, as he and Bull Run clearly indicate.  His staff are Oregonian representatives as well.

Medoff and his crew have kindly submitted one of their whiskey's, which is a product of some of Medoff's Mad Scientist experiments gone right!  The product has a very slightly fruity/ethanol and bourbon nose.  It's very laid-back and has a totally smooth start to finish.  Very nice!

Bull Run Recipes:

Pinot Noir Finished American Whiskey Sour

1.3 Oz Pinot Noir Finished American Whiskey
1.5 Oz Lemon Juice
.75 Oz Simple Syrup
Cherry or Lemon Slice

Get it together:
  1. Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake it well.
  3. Strain it into an ice-filled rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with a cherry and/or lemon slice.

The New York Sour

Combine 2 ounces rye or bourbon whiskey, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, and 1 ounce simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, cover, and shake until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Gently pour 1/2 ounce fruity red wine (such as Shiraz or Malbec) over the back of a spoon held just above the drink's surface so wine floats on top.
