The Kindness Challenge: Thirty Days to Improve Any Relationship. Shaunti Feldhahn

As one might imagine, the practice of being kind is very simple. Yet, how many of us are motivated to try it? We are.

The first chapter sets us up to consider a person to whom we have been unkind. Yes, they are out there and we know it. Then, we are to follow Author Feldhan's instructions. Simple.

Chapter two details specific incidence's where anger was absorbed by the cognizant party. Then, kindness was absorbed by the angry person. we have seen this happen. However, we must take issue with the possibility of one person purposely sucking in the anger of another. We can assert our boundaries without returning anger. But, to purposely suck it in? No.

However, we know that there is insight for us within the covers.

Chapter four is where we start to act on what we have learned about being kind to others. It lays out the 8 principles involved in consciously setting out to being kind.

Chapter five asserts that we do not know what kindness is. This raised our hackles until we realized that what Feldhahn was stating was that when we really examine our day-to-day interactions, we aren't as good as we could be. Sadly, it is true.

Thus begins the second portion of the book which, is where the 30-days, " a kinder you," begins.

The Kindness Challenge is definitely worth the read!

It also makes you think. We read a lot of books that make us think. Sighing...

However, we are so glad that we do endeavor to think.

We all need this.

We do.

...kindness is a superpower.

Kindness makes life much better.

Think on good things, and what will come out will generally be good and kind.

When we're suspicious, we usually believe the worst of people's intention, even when they care for us very much.

You cannot change the other person; you can change only yourself.
