The Best Diet Begins in Your Mind: Eliminate the Eight Emotional Obstacles to Permanent Weight Loss

What Dr. Forman espouses is that the book is a program, which must be thoughtfully worked through, so that you can ascertain interior signals which make you eat.  In fact, she highlights the 8 big facts on the premise that if you can change the way you think about eating, during one of the recognized mental states, then, you can change the way you feel about eating during these times.

The eight emotional obstacles are observed thusly;

  1. Anger
  2. Boredom and emptiness
  3. Deprivation
  4. Fear and anxiety
  5. Hopelessness
  6. Loneliness
  7. Sadness and depression
  8. Stress and tension

The Best Diet Begins in Your MindDr. Forman does include book space so that you can answer germane questions.  This might be difficult for some, to truly and critically look at yourself and your behaviors.  The payoff, however, is surely worth it.

She actually helps you to replace old patterns (over-eating) with positive new ones by recognizing what it is that you actually feel and acting on that feeling in a non-harmful to self and/or others manner.  It makes perfect sense.  She teaches the reader how thought stop, relax, meditate, visualize and how to work with your feelings.

If dealing with your feelings is more than you think you can handle, please, check out the book, "Feelings."  It's available at most libraries.  It can help you tremendously.

Dr. Forman states;

There are no quick fixes—at least none that last.

And, it's true.  Work the book/program like it's important to you.  Logically, the concepts presented here are sound.
