These are oiled up when you receive them.  Hence, the blades move freely.  The handles are coated with a rubbery substance which assists your grip when your hands start to get sweaty.  They're also heavy duty.

The bite is on the smaller side.  So, you'll want to use these for the younger branches.  Seriously, I have used other pruners and they were harder to hold in my hand, heavier and had an even smaller bite.
