Living with Intent: My Somewhat Messy Journey to Purpose, Peace, and Joy

It's always good to read a book like this.  Chopra has certainly found her niche and we have discovered a substantive author for whom understanding content is not laden with over-analyzed and over-worked verbiage.  That sort of thing shouldn't be a necessity to reading books that matter.

Mallika ChopraLiving with Intent is a step-by-step how to.  These are normally found at chapter's end.  Between those lessons, Chopra is living the messages which she espouses.  What is clear is her compassion, concern for self and others and an occasional wit, which we find refreshing!

If you read this for yourself, you have much to gain.  Then, much to consider.
And, more to give.

We don't wish to spoil anything for you.  But, the baby owl incident in chapter four is something that leaves us joy, even now, as we think about it.

But, we digress.

This is a powerful piece.  We are grateful for the opportunities that it presents.  Truly edifying.

I don't want to escape my life; I want to enhance it.

I'm so busy that I no longer take the time to think about what I want - to incubate my desires, to live daily in the way that I know gives me peace and happiness.

Intents are expressions of who we aspire to be as individuals---physically, emotionally, spiritually---as members of our families and communities and even as citizens of Mother Earth.

It's reassuring to know to realize I'm not alone in questioning whether there is a less bumpy path to more joy and purpose in my life.

I've found that sitting in silence and focusing the mind is the most meaningful and effective way to incubate intents, because it provides access to a deeper well of understanding, insight and, awareness.

The present is where the key to my happiness lies, because it's really all I - or any of us - have.

We all have our own ways of finding contemplative time and space.

...we began each day setting an intention, a desire to dream that we wanted to pursue, and actively seeking the emotional and spiritual connections to make it happen.

What is the reason I'm here?  How can I honor that reason?
